Your Phoenix Intergroup

The Phoenix Metro Area SAA Intergroup is made up of representatives from meetings around the Valley and beyond. Meetings are held monthly and conduct business involving our local fellowship.

What does the Intergroup do? In short, we support the meetings that we represent and provide services that the meetings themselves might not be able to. This includes such things as ordering SAA literature in bulk at lower prices, providing a local phone hotline for newcomers, helping meetings get up and running (including registration), putting on SAA-related events such as socials and conventions, and creating and maintaining this website.

The International Service Organization (ISO) of SAA has issued suggested guidelines for conducting meetings and representation for local Intergroups. The Phoenix Metro Area Intergroup makes every possible effort to adhere to these guidelines.

The Intergroup is bound by the 12 Traditions to serve its represented meetings.

We are currently looking for ideas on how to make the Intergroup more convenient for our members to attend. If you have any ideas about this please feel free to submit them here.

The Intergroup has several offices which perform various duties for our local fellowship:

  • Chair - conducts Intergroup meetings, makes assignments to other members, keeps things running smoothly.
  • Secretary - keeps meeting minutes and checks mail.
  • Treasurer - maintains information on the Intergroup's bank account and available funds. The treasurer may also order literature from time to time.
  • Outreach Coordinator - pursues opportunities for interaction with the community and struggling sex addicts. This may include outreach to churches, the professional mental health community, and the legal system.
  • Webmaster - creates and maintains this website.

The Intergroup also forms special committees to perform various functions such as setting up a social, attending to local business, ordering literature, finding new locations for meetings or events, and interacting with our sibling organizations such as COSA.
